Lenovo’s next Legion Tab could launch in May with screen & battery upgrades

According to a leaker, Lenovo plans to launch a new Legion Tab update in May that includes Snapdragon 8 Elite and major display and battery upgrades.

The existing Lenovo Legion Tab (Gen 3) launched to the global market – including the US for the first time – in January with a fairly compelling overall package. An 8.8-inch 165Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB of RAM, and more. Whether used as intended as a gaming tablet or just as a multimedia device, it stands pretty much alone on the Android side of the market in this form factor.

But a new version is already in the works. Prior leaks pinned down this tablet as running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and having some other key upgrades, but now we’re getting a better idea of what to expect.

Leaker Digital Chat Station says on Weibo that Lenovo plans to release its next Legion Tab in May (presumably only in China at first) with a “3K 165Hz LCD” display. That’d be up a bit in resolution alone from the 2560×1600 display on the Legion Tab available today.

The battery, meanwhile, would be somewhere between 7,000 and 8,000 mAh compared to the existing 6,550 mAh battery. That’s despite the tablet as a whole reportedly being thinner than the existing model.

The post goes on to mention a “competing product” launching in June, though it’s unclear what brand this might be from.
