YouTube Premium Lite is expanding to more countries

After launching in the US and select other regions earlier this year, YouTube Premium Lite is now expanding to a few more countries – here’s the full list.

Google launched YouTube Premium Lite in March of this year as a lower-cost way to ditch ads on YouTube. The plan does away with perks such as background play and downloads, and is really just a way to remove ads from “most” videos on YouTube. At $7.99/month it’s far more affordable, but it’s also been quite limited in terms of availability.

Firstly, the rollout has been slow. While Google introduced the plan in early March, it was still rolling out to customers in the first few countries – United States, Australia, Thailand & Germany – as of late April.

Now, though, Google is bringing YouTube Premium Lite to a few more regions.

Starting earlier this week and rolling out now, YouTube viewers in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Great Britain – not the entire UK – can sign up for Premium Lite.

We’re happy to share that we’re expanding Premium Lite to viewers in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Canada and Great Britain next! We’re slowly rolling this out over the next couple days, so hold tight.

Google says that interested viewers can check youtube.com/premiumlite to see if the plan is available on their account. Pricing varies by region.
